"Greetings, this is the inbox of Princess Allura. While I am grateful that you have reached out to me, I unfortunately cannot answer you directly at the moment. But if you leave a message and wait a tick, I will surely get back to you!"

so Lotor's assumptions aren't wrong. because it's just who she is, as a paladin, as a princess, she will always give it her all to help those in need, put her life on the line to protect those from losing loved ones, losing their home.
so when his message comes through, there's already a certain heaviness that settles about her, in the way it always seems to fall before the final push. it's not a name she wants to see, nor does she want to pay mind to what he has to say to her. they haven't spoken, and she wants to convince herself that she hasn't even thought of him in days past.
but she has. more often than she wishes to admit. time still hasn't healed the wounds of betrayal, and it also has not gotten rid of any of the good memories she has of him.
initially she opens the message to just have it read. to keep it out of sight and out of mind and to have it fade among the other private messages. a varga passes, a varga she remains vigilante.
but in her heart, she knows she is truly not that petty of a person. and she knows that, were he to get himself hurt, or worse, it would pain her more than it probably should.
she lets another varga pass before she finally decides on what to say to him. wishing she were stronger to ignore him, but knowing it would be a weakness to actually be so juvenile and mean...]
I do not want harm to fall on you either.
If you find it in yourself to help these people in need, stay safe.

. . . well. a mite passive aggressive, if he were honest, given the tone of the last line. he can almost hear her self-righteous good person superiority complex in every syllable. but far better than he expected, given the circumstances, and he hesitates again, his fingers lingering over the holographic keyboard. debating, debating . . . ]
I'll do what I must to ensure we leave here, alive, and that you are kept safe. Those goals align with the safety of these androids; I will likely remain here, where I am most useful, unless you require my assistance elsewhere.
[ lying and saying he gives a damn about these androids would only result in allura telling him he's lying, and being completely bluntly honest is inappropriate. so he settles for the truth, but a nice version of it: he'll throw his weight behind the rescue effort, because he won't leave allura here to be electrocuted on some suicide mission.
and, if lotor were smart, he would just leave it at that. but allura is listening, somewhat, and so he presses it. just a little bit more. ]
Have you eaten yet, today?

she stares down at his response. trying to read between the lines of what he's saying, because her trust in him is gone. but even still, she'd have been content with such a mild response, knowing full well he wouldn't go out of his way to do anything that would inconvenience him for the sake of others unless it benefited him in some way.
and his offer to assist her...she doesn't read too much into. or tries not to, at least.
but he just can't leave well enough alone, and his following response just as her frowning deep at the message. then rolling her eyes.
she'll ignore it.]
Let me know your status when this is all over.

the unknown is driving him insane. and, typically, when such things bother him, or frustrate him, he goes to allura to talk about it. which he can no longer do. and everyone else from their world is, essentially, on her side. as they probably should be, given the nature of their relationship with allura versus his own. ]
If that is what you want.
[ starting a fight is fairly pointless, at this juncture. ]
