[The Jedi order, much like many things in the universe, have nearly all been obliterated. Mere whispers, rumours of one or two still running around, heading a sect of well-known Rebels to help free the universe of the Empire.
She knows of Luke and his people, had known of the Jedi before they became near-extinct relics of yesteryear. It's not as though the Voltron Coalition was an unknown force in the galaxy as well, in fact having found an alliance with Leia Organa sometime after the tragic destruction of Alderaan.
And it is through this alliance that this fellow Princess has somehow fallen into bed with Luke, still half wondering if this is right, but also not quite caring of the future consequences of this.
The Jedi weren't supposed to have relationships like this, right? And she was supposed to be the level-headed leader of her own group.
But even still, following the destruction of the Death Star, following the celebration and handing out of medals, she finds herself meeting him in his room, door sliding shut behind her, her own hair still done up from the ceremony.]
now i'm just imagining voltron using its sword against the death star and it's great
[ The destruction of the Death Star is still fresh in his mind and the initial rush of adrenaline has faded to a general sort of excitement that continues to pump through his body. The celebration and medal ceremony hadn't helped much and the sheer amount of partying hadn't helped it either. It also wasn't helped by the fact that Luke Skywalker had somehow ended up with a beautiful princess. Not the one he'd rescued, but another - someone he'd met as the Rebellion had worked to free the galaxy from the Empire's grip.
In a way, he wasn't sure if he was supposed to have fallen head-over-heels for the princess, but in the end it didn't really matter what was supposed to happen. It had happened (was happening) and he was almost just along for the ride.
He's still in his ceremony garb, a bit ruffled from the party, but otherwise in excellent spirits and right now he only has eyes for Allura. He glances up as she comes through the door and almost does a double-take. Sure, he'd just seen her during the whole celebration, but seeing her in private was something else entirely. He crosses the room to meet her, smile lighting up the room. ]
You're beautiful - I mean, you're always beautiful, but you look amazing tonight!
[She's a bit more put together than him, and makes it seem almost effortless with the way her hair is still up despite her partaking in the following festivities. Her dress is unwrinkled, and the ceremonial jewels she wore beneath her markings remain as they were.
There's a part that still wonders if this is appropriate. No one else seems to know, with the exception of perhaps Leia who has a...sense whenever she catches her looking at Luke. She wonders if it's jealousy, or some other sort of connection.
But for now, she shoves that to the back of her mind when he compliments her, as eagerly as one would expect from a farmboy. She closes the distance between, skirts sweeping the floor as she meets him, though not before locking the door.
It's obvious that she wants to keep this quiet, and before responding, she kisses him at the corner of his mouth, hand cupping his cheek and then running her fingers through his ruffled hair.]
You're beginning to sound like a broken droid, the way you repeat yourself. [It's said fondly though, teasing.] You look amazing tonight, as well.
I wanted to offer you my own personal congratulations.
[ For Luke, everything is huge and wondrous and exciting and a part of him still, still can't believe that a beautiful princess would even look at him twice, let alone love him. Or that he would love her. He's a backwater farmboy from some nowhere world. And yet he's a hero now. Heir to an ancient order and one of the brightest, shining stars in the Rebellion.
All the same, he can't help but feel like he pales in comparison to Allura, especially when she sweeps across the room toward him in that magnificent dress, looking like she just stepped out of some holodrama. He grins up at her and leans into the little kiss she gives him, arms eagerly slipping around her waist to hold her close. She's warm and he doesn't particularly want her going anywhere, after all. ]
I only repeat myself because it's true. [ He sounds a bit abashed, but it fades after a moment.
Especially when she mentions "personal" congratulations and he clears his throat, eyes widening just a little. ]
Well. I'd love to have it from you. Your - congratulations I mean-
[ He feels tongue-tied, stumbling over his words. ]
[For a war hero who took down a Death Star with a single shot, and for the heir to one of the oldest and most respected orders of the universe, he certainly still has that youthfulness which Allura so dearly wants to cling to.
Because this war has aged everyone a part of it far beyond their years. And it's through him she feels like she actually is as young as she should be, had she not waken years past her father's death and planet's destruction, sole heir to a planet and people that no longer exist. Assisting fellow royals of destroyed planets in a rebellion that needed hope, and has found its only hope.
But it is through this she finds kinship with Luke as well. He's lost so much. His family, his mentor, countless others during their attack against the Empire. But still, there is that spark he has that countless others have lost.
As he looks at her, wide-eyed, shy and embarrassed, she smiles youthfully, bringing her hands up to cup his face. She kisses him again, full on the mouth, body close to his.]
[ Luke doesn't really have anything to say after that. His hands come up on instinct and wrap around her waist with a slightly clumsy gesture as she presses down into a kiss. It's full-bodied and warm and she's close and it's a little overwhelming, but he tries to carry on despite that. because of it. He wants to return the sense of excitement and awe she gives him and maybe that's how he manages to keep going. Despite the way his brain seems to want to short-circuit when she kisses him.
His lips part in a low gasp and his hand runs up her back until he finds the nap of her neck, her hair, fingers carding against her scalp as he presses closer. His kissing is... not the best, but he's certainly enthusiastic about it. Especially with her leaning over him. ]
[In fairness, she's still inexperienced with all this as well, equally as enthused in kissing him, his fingers running through her hair causing her to shudder a bit in anticipation. But she's also better at leading the way in all this; he's proven himself a skilled pilot, but her race of people remains stronger, and it's easy for her to guide him towards the bed, moving her hands to his shoulder to help strip him of his jacket.]
I want you, Luke... [She may look the part of a leading actress in a holodrama, but even in her confidence of wanting him in bed, there's still that hitch of inexperience in the way she says it.
Like a young princess who's only ever read about romance.
She returns to kissing him, hands now at his hips, mouth parted and tongue finding his. Moving onward she kisses his cheek, the juncture of his jawline, tugging the collar of his shirt down to kiss his neck.]
I was worried I would never get to kiss you again.
[After having already lost so many during this war.]
[ There's a whirlwind of movement - or at least that's how it feels to Luke. A bit of fumbling as he shrugs the jacket off and then he settles down against the bed, scooting back to give her space to join him, all while he still tries to plant as many kisses against her as he can. There's something deeply intoxicating about the way she speaks to him. The want and need that mirrors his own, the deep attraction, the emotional resonance. His hands are roaming - albeit with a hint of shyness, almost as if he's not sure whether he's allowed to touch anywhere that isn't her shoulder or her waist or her face.
That doubt is very quickly being shattered by the way she's kissing at his throat and his face and her hands tug at his shirt, but it's still there. ]
I - I know. I was-
[ Scared. There had been fear, but he'd mastered it. ]
Worried. Too.
[ The words are halting, breathless and his hand slides from her waist toward her chest, pausing for half a moment. ]
here we gooo
